about me, about you

Originally from New England, I traveled all over the world before moving to
Savannah with my handsome husband. We fell in love with the trees and the
squares. I am an artist in pursuit of a Masters of Fine Arts degree, so when I
am not researching wedding lore and symbolism, I am likely to be making
something.
Ordained by Universal Ministries, I am non-denominational. This means
that I do not incorporate religious or biblical concepts or content into the
ceremony. (Feel free to invite friends or family to take part in your
ceremony by performing these readings.)
Your wedding ceremony should be unique to you and your partner, whether
it is private between the two of you or in front of 350 of your closest friends.
We will meet and talk, to collaborate in creating a ceremony that expresses
your love and commitment.
I aim to easily incorporate elements of your history as a couple and any
cultural traditions you may wish to be a part of your marriage ritual. I am
awed by the power and meaning of objects and strive to bring them into
your wedding ritual. Instead of using any old cord in the handfasting
ceremony, we can add layers of meaning through binding your love with a
rope from a camping trip, a ribbon from a sentimental bouquet of flowers, a
scarf knit by a friend, even an old love note can be made into part of your
ceremony. Whilst I will help you bring shape to your ceremony and focus to
your actual wedding (not the cake or the color scheme or the bridesmaids
hairstyle), I do not provide marriage or couple's counseling.
If your ideal ceremony involves an unusual venue or activity, we can
discuss the possibilities. I encourage creative expressions and can almost
always be counted on for an adventure(it is important to note that I am a
terrible bowler).
As an artist and a former chef, my true passion is making things. I would
love to be a part of making your wedding ceremony special and wonderful.
